Neurology

Neurology is a branch of medicine that deals with the examination, diagnosis, and non-surgical treatment of diseases of the brain, brainstem, spinal cord and peripheral nervous system and muscles in general. Neurology has gradually ceased to be a closed and limited branch and has been divided into sub-disciplines that require specialization such as epilepsy, movement disorders, headaches, cerebrovascular diseases, dementia, sleep disorders. In addition, while neurology was integrated with mental health disorders in the 19th century, psychiatry has been divided into a separate branch in the 20th century. In addition to a great laboratory background in all these areas, it has continuous multidisciplinary relationships with many other medical fields.

Neurologists work in collaboration with branches such as neurosurgery, psychiatry, psychology, ophthalmology, and physical therapy.
